Our Brother, member and mentor Paul writes from Homa bay, Kenya, they are enduring floods and hope to plan for replanting once they subside. Since embracing permaculture in 2016 Paul has built a 20-village strong network, however many are currently greatly stressed by extreme weather, just how can we help?
Yes brother,
hundreds of residents of central kochia location have been forced to move out of their homes due to flash floods.
The families from Kamsergei- kosika village, kogembo, kosano and other 20 families have been displaced by floods. Heavy rains have pounded the area for the last two days causing floods that swept the farms.
Gloe Achiengβ Arido a flood victim, said an estimated 20 families have been displaced. Askar Akinyi Odondi, another victim said the elderly and children were the worst affected. We directed the affected residents to camp at at their neighboring churches where they will receive humanitarian assistance if any case God open ways or doors.
βThis is the fourth time we are being affected by floods in the recent past. We are requesting prayer support from well-wishers to assist in any way they can.β said Pst.Paul" Join us today and be the beacon of light in their darkest hour. Together, we can make a life-changing difference for those in need.

Brother i do understand you (that it is so hard to raise funds) but the painful part of it they were the backbone of Sector39, just imagine even the farms Stella visit are the among affected, It's quite frustrating now sector39 is losing momentum in the ground back here, it will take time for this people to heal up.
Paul
Dear Paul,
I am sharing this post on our social network in the hope we can reach the right support. As a teacher I can help you build ideas and strategies, but sadly I am not the funder to find emergency relief for you now.
Through permaculture design, common vision, mutuality we must find ways to pull together as people to face the adversity before us. Climate change will drive food insecurity, and there lies poverty. When I see the images of the floods, I feel horror and shock thinking of the damage caused to all the hard work that has been done there by the PermoAfrica network and how fragile it all feels when these extreme events happen.
I also see that only long-term thinking and planning can help prevent this from happening again and again. I can see you clearly have some immediate and short term challenges, but also long-term issues to face to improve the situation. Constantly rebuilding is not the option.
In solidarity, in sympathy and with my long term support as ever, I share your words and hope they can help move us towards the best response we can make.
Your friend
Steve
